NIESR vs MAC: Analysing the effects of immigration

In January the National Institute of Economic and Social Research (NIESR) and the Migration Advisory Committee (MAC) both came out with reports analysing various effects of immigration. 

The NIESR report based its analysis on the relationship between immigration and unemployment using National Insurance Number registration data across the UK.

The MAC based its analysis on the impact of immigration on the labour market, public service and social impacts.
