If you have a right to live the in the UK, your family may join you. Your family is defined as:
If you are a student, only your spouse or civil partner and dependent children are entitled to a right of residence.
The UK Border Agency website explains how European and non-European citizens and members of their family can enter, live in and work in the UK. Visit the websites below for more information.
Family members who come to the UK with an EEA national but who are not themselves a national of an EEA country can apply for a residence card, with some exceptions (see Family member residence stamp section). The card confirms that person's right of residence under European law. Residence cards are normally valid for five years and take the form of an endorsement that is placed in the holder's passport. Applications for a residence card should be made using application form EEA2.
Visit the UK Border Agency website to download a residence card application (EEA2). [3]
